A seminar entitled "Bioinformatic analysis of bacterial genomes for commercial applications" was held on 11-02-2020 in the Department of Complex Systems. It was given by PhD. Marta Sochacka-Piętal from the Department of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics at the Faculty of Chemistry of the PRz.

Bacteria are organisms that can survive in almost any extreme environment conditions. The ability to adapt quickly to changing conditions is due to the extraordinary plasticity of their genomes. The intensive development of DNA sequencing techniques has given us access to the sequence of millions of genes encoding biotechnologically useful products. The seminar showed selected bioinformatics tools used in bacterial genomic analyzes, allowing the identification of genes with potential relevance to various industries.
