On December 13, 2023, a meeting of the expert and advisory team for the implementation of the RaP STEAM project – robotics and programming in primary schools in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship – was organized at the Marshal's Office of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship in Rzeszów. The project is implemented under the regional program European Funds for Podkarpacie 2021-2027, co-financed by the European Union from the European Social Fund Plus.
The meeting was attended by representatives of educational, scientific, and local government institutions implementing the project, i.e., the PZPW in Rzeszów, the Rzeszów University of Technology, the Grodzisko Dolne Commune, and the Provincial Cultural Center in Rzeszów – the Łukasiewicz Podkarpackie Science Center.
The main purpose of the meeting was to present to the team members:
- the status of the RaP STEAM project implementation – from school recruitment to the decision on co-financing;
- the substantive assumptions resulting from the application for co-financing;
- the progress of the task related to the development of pedagogical innovation.
A representative of the Rzeszów University of Technology, Dr. Dominik Strzałka, presented the substantive assumptions and specifications of a pedagogical innovation concerning the teaching of computer science and the implementation of extracurricular activities in grades IV to 8th grade of primary school based on educational robotics, which include experiences gathered while working with children and young people in educational robotics classes. The entire team of the Complex Systems Department is involved in the implementation of the project.
