During the conference “2nd Forum on Critical Infrastructure Protection – Threats, Vulnerabilities, Resilience, Protection: Critical Infrastructure in Times of Change”, Marek Bolanowski, an employee of the Complex Systems Department, delivered a presentation titled: “Connection Networks and IoE Systems as a Key Element in Supervising the Operation of Critical Infrastructure Systems”.
The Critical Infrastructure Protection Forum is intended to serve as a platform for the exchange of experiences among individuals involved in the protection of critical infrastructure. The topics around which the discourse is to be conducted have been formulated based on three key aspects of critical infrastructure: threats, vulnerabilities, and resilience. In each of these areas, the past two years have seen rapid regulatory changes due to the emergence of specific external factors (including the war in countries directly bordering Poland). These events necessitated a review and revision of the existing solutions, not only at the national level but also within the European Union. As a result, the approach to critical infrastructure has changed—its definition now includes not only physical facilities but also key services. This shift is a consequence of disruptions in supply chains during the pandemic and the ongoing armed conflict. Attention has also been drawn to civil protection, civil defense, and crisis management, which have been reformed in recent times. The main objective of the event is to broaden knowledge, facilitate the exchange of scientific experiences, and support education directly related to the industry or profession, with the aim of updating knowledge for professional purposes.
