An employee of the Department of Complex Systems, Andrzej Paszkiewicz, Ph.D., is co-author of the scientific publication entitled "Analysis of the quality of products manufactured with the application of additive manufacturing technologies with the possibility of applying the Industry 4.0 conception"published in the scientific journal International Journal for Quality Research (according to the list of MEiN 100 pts.), vol. 16, no. 3, pp. 831-850, 2022. The publication was created as a result of the scientific work of an interdisciplinary team of PRz employees.
The work included the development and presentation of a proprietary web platform that presents an example of a quality control procedure for 3D models. The realised work came out of the need to organise and systematise processes and define certain quality standards for 3D printing. Particularly in the case of complex models, as well as finished products, it is advisable to take steps to verify their quality by using, for example, measuring tools, automatic scanning, handheld scanners, tomographs or coordinate measuring methods. When selecting specific quality control methods for incrementally manufactured products, the cost of carrying out quality control, the time taken to carry out quality control, the available quality control apparatus and tools, and the expertise required to carry out specific tests should be taken into account in each case.
