Department of Complex Systems and Department of Power Electronics and Power Engineering extend their cooperation with Plans Sp. z o.o. based in Warsaw. Plans company operates on the border of IT and power engineering. Its most important area of activity is the creation of software for the needs of the Polish power industry: tools for planning work and analyzing the operating states of the national power system. The PLANS package is used by leading energy companies, Polish transmission network operators, and also for teaching purposes, including Rzeszów University of Technology and is known to everyone associated with the industry.
The Plans package supports data in the so-called KDM format, used for years in the Polish power industry, as well as in the EPC format of the General Electric PSLF package and in the IEN format, used for teaching and training purposes. The program allows modeling of all types of short-circuits: 1-F, 2F, 2F + N and 3F. The built-in graphics editor allows creating drawings showing diagrams of power transmission systems, which can be further used to control the electrical system of the network and to present the results of calculations - power flow and short-circuit current flow. Flowing calculations are used to determine nodal voltages for given network loads and for given topology and network configuration. The Macro command language for Plans - JMP for short - is a programming language that allows users of the PLANS package to automate repetitive computational tasks often performed using this package.
The developing cooperation will allow for conducting research on the border of power engineering and IT, where completely new possibilities of development and interdisciplinary applications appear. The Plans Company gave the Rzeszów University of Technology a free license of Plans WN software and signed an appropriate cooperation agreement.
