Conference "SDSI" - Meeting on the occasion of World Telecommunication and Information Society Day, Podkarpacie 2024
On June 13, 2024, a conference was held at the University of Rzeszów to celebrate World Telecommunication and Information Society Day (WTISD). The event, organized by the Podkarpackie Branch of the Polish Information Processing Society, the Rzeszów Branch of the Association of Polish Electrical Engineers, and the Department of Complex Systems at Rzeszów University of Technology, attracted many specialists, scientists, and technology enthusiasts.
The theme of the WTISD 2024 celebration is "Digital Innovations for Sustainable Development." It is aimed at everyone who, especially in the current times, finds that information technology allows them to work and makes life easier.
During the event, among other things, the assumptions and current results of the project called RaP STEAM – robotics and programming in primary schools in the Podkarpackie region were presented.
The lecture titled "Challenges and Technical Solutions in Building RaP STEAM – a Platform for Learning Robotics and Programming in Primary Schools in the Podkarpackie Region" was delivered by MSc. Eng. Paweł Kuraś and DSc. Eng., Prof. PRz Dominik Strzałka from the Department of Complex Systems at Rzeszów University of Technology.
The event was led by Ph.D. Eng. Andrzej Paszkiewicz, an employee of the Department of Complex Systems and the current president of the Podkarpackie Branch of the Polish Information Processing Society (PTI).
During the conference, national and local government authorities were represented by:
Dr. Eng. Karol Ożóg Vice-Marshal of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship
Wiesław Buż – First Vice-Voivode of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship
Marcin Deręgowski – Deputy Mayor of the City of Rzeszów.
The organizing committee also included vice-president of the Podkarpackie Branch of the Polish Information Processing Society (PTI), Ph.D. Eng. Marek Bolanowski and MSc. Eng. Mateusz Salach from the Department of Complex Systems.
